- A physical-chemical treatment process used to treat wet-weather flows. Coagulants and/or flocculants are added to the wastewater prior to entering a gravity settling process. The process creates conditions under which dense flocs with a high settling velocity are formed, allowing them to be removed efficiently at high surface overflow rates with corresponding high TSS and BOD removal.
